Katrina Kaif Was Chucked Out Of Her Debut Film With John Abraham And Salman Khan Laughed At Her

Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan’s Bharat released on Eid and the film has received a thunderous response on its open day earning 42.30 crores at the box-office. Now we all know that the duo shares an incredible chemistry on-screen but their off-screen bond is even more intense. Katrina and Salman’s friendship is over a decade old and the actress has known Salman since she made her debut in Bollywood. What many might not be aware of, however, is the fact that Katrina was removed from her very first film after two days and she met Salman weeping while he laughed at her!

Katrina had signed on for the film Saaya which was being directed by Anurag Basu and also had John Abraham playing the lead. After shooting for the film for two days the actress was chucked out and the fact shattered the actress. In an old interview with Filmfare, Katrina had spoken about Salman’s reaction when she told him this and it was truly unexpected. Salman laughed at her and advised her to move on and focus on her career.

 In the interview, Katrina reminisced, “He always had a lot of belief in me. I was to be a part of the movie  ‘Saaya'. Anurag Basu was the director, John Abraham was the hero and I was cast in the film. I was called one night for a shot. It was a silent shot, that too I was playing a ghost. It was a passing shot. After shooting for two days, I was told I am chucked out. When I left the room, I started crying, I was bawling my eyes out.”

The actress also recalled her meeting with Salman after she received the disastrous news, “Sometime in the day, I met Salman and I'm weeping, and he's just laughing. I started to think he's so mean. I'm thinking my career is over and I've been chucked out from my first film and it's the end of my life and he's laughing? He finally gave in and calmed me down saying, you don't understand, this doesn't mean anything. I know where you're going to go from here, these things happen, I don't have an answer but these things happen, you'll see. Just keep your focus and work hard.”

Well, today she is one of the most sought after actresses in the industry and there is no turning back and we truly thank Salman for motivating her to carry on. The former couple has done several movies together since right from Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya to the Tiger franchise and they have definitely broken many big box office records together.

After their last film Tiger Zinda hai which grossed over 300 crores at the box office, Salman and Katrina have reunited with Ali Abbas Zafar for Bharat and after a terrific opening who knows where the film will stop at the box office.
