    Amitabh Bachchan and the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati have become synonymous after the actor’s 19-year-old association with it. Back in the year 2000 KBC was launched on TV and sent the nation into a frenzy with everyone asking ‘9 baj gaye kya?’

    Kaun Banega Crorepati starts its season 11 on Monday evening and Amitabh Bachchan will return as the host. The superstar started shoot for the new season on 1 August and there are several new features on the show with respect to the technology, participants and the game.


    Here are all the details of the newest season that you need to know.

    When does it start and where to watch it?

    KBC 11 kick starts on Monday, 19 August and will air on Sony Entertainment Channel 9 PM onwards. The show Patiala Babes the formerly occupied the time slot has been moved to a new slot where as the show Ladies Special that was on the 9:30 slot has been scrapped by the channel as it failed to rank on TRP charts. KBC will air on weekdays from Monday through Friday.


    One can also watch the game show on the Sony LIV App in LIVE TV section but will have pay a small premium fee to be able to enjoy the service.

    The registrations for Kaun Banega Crorepati started in May 2019 and the contestants have been selected through a tough screening process by the channel.

    Like some previous seasons of KBC, the audience can play the game alongside the contestants answering the same question in the same time frame on the SonyLIV App and the episode can win prizes. Based on performance and consistent participation monitored by a leader board, some lucky winners can also get to participate in the show in the final week.

    What’s new on KBC 11?


    Not only has the show got a swanky new set for season 11 but the show also has made some upgrades to the technology used to shoot the show. KBC this season will have something called a ‘buggy’ cam that will shoot some dramatic shots of the audiences, contestants and the host Amitabh Bachchan.

    The lifeline ‘phone a friend’ has been scrapped this season and brought back the option called ‘flip’. The participants can switch the question using ‘flip’ and for that they need to pick out 10 subjects before the game starts and the computer will switch the original question with one from the chosen subjects. The participants will have three other lifelines in the game that include audience poll, 50:50 and ask the expert.
