Kiara Advani Bags Ashutosh Gowarikar's Film Based On Lijjat Papad's Success Story? Read Details...

Kiara Advani seems to be on a roll. The actress has bagged some big projects and is all set for their releases. Now, we are getting to hear that she would be joining hands with Ashutosh Gowarikar and will be playing the central role in the film. It has been titled Karram Kurram.

According to a report in Mid Day, the actress has been approached to play the main role in the film that will track the journey of Lijjat Papad. The film will apparently be helmed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. A source quoted by the daily said, "Kiara was the first choice for the project. She is the perfect combination of softness and quiet strength, required to pull off the part of a middle-class woman with a fighting spirit. She signed the film before flying off to Chandigarh for the Jug Jugg Jeeyo shoot."

The source further added, "The final script has been locked, and it will be directed by Ashu sir’s former assistants Glenn Baretto and Ankush Mohla. Ashu sir procured the rights after Glenn and Ankush told him about the middle-class Gujarati housewives, who started the business in 1959 to reduce the financial strain on their families."

Lijjat Papad had started by seven women- Jaswantiben Popat, Jayaben Vithalani, Parvatiben Thodani, Ujamben Kundalia, Banuben Tanna, Chutadben Gawade and Laguben Gokani; and it grew from four packets a day to the giant papad business that it is today. The film will roll from August-end next year.
