Kiran Rao had been in the news very recently for her personal reasons. The lady, who happens to be a co-producer with Aamir Khan and is behind Laal Singh Chadda, grabbed headlines when she and Aamir announced their separation. But, despite choosing different paths, they continue to be friends and co-parents to son Azad. Now, Kiran Rao is all set to be back on the director's chair, after 11 years!

If a report in Peepingmoon is to be believed, then Kiran Rao is all set to direct a new film. A source quoted by the portal revealed, "Kiran Rao is returning to direction with a story that's rooted in a village. It's a social comedy-drama revolving around two girls and one boy. Kiran has completed the scripting and is currently in the process of finalizing the star cast. She is simultaneously also locking the shooting locations in North India to begin the production by the end of December. Actor and producer Tanaji Dasgupta serves as a creative producer on this yet-untitled film."

Kiran Rao had earlier helmed Dhobi Ghat, which gained critical acclaim. Like her previous film, Kiran is planning to show the new film in various festival circuits as well. We are sure this would be a treat for independent cinema lovers, and audience in general.
