Kriti Sanon Blasts Social Media Over Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death Reportage, Calls It ‘The Freakiest, Most Toxic Place’

After the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise was spread across the country there were several social media users who condemned Bollywood and has been spewing venom since. The day before actor Kriti Sanon was present at the last rites of the actor and today, she took to her social media to unleash her wrath on social media and its very being!

In her Instagram post, she wrote, “It’s strange that the otherwise trolling, gossiping world suddenly wakes up to your niceness and positive side once you are gone. Social media is the freakiest, most toxic place.. and if you haven’t posted RIP or said something publicly, you are considered not to be grieving, when in reality, those are the people grieving for real. It seems social media is the new real world.. and the “REAL” world has become “FAKE”.”

After the story of the suicide broke out, the way media coverage pertaining to the case has also been questioned by many. The media has been asked to have some restraint. Kriti continued to curse the media and has urged for some guidelines for journalism. She has further mentioned in her note, “Some media people have completely lost their motive and sensitivity.. At a time like this, all they do is ask you to come live or give a comment! like really??! Banging the car window and saying “madam sheesha neeche karo na” to get a clearer picture of someone going for a funeral.. Funerals are very private and personal affair. Let’s put humanity before our profession.”

She went on to request the media to be a little sensitive in their coverage as even celebrities are just normal people behind the glamour. She also pointed out the problems of the blame game and urges people to stop gossiping or putting forward their opinions as the only right way. The message ends with a motivational note, “Take your time to heal… Hold on to your family and people who genuinely love you and care about you… Never let them go.. They are your strength and will be by your side no matter what.. So let them be around.. No one is strong enough to Battle life alone.”
