Kriti Sanon recalls breaking down to tears after being yelled at during her first ramp walk, says her mother gave her a reality check

Kriti Sanon is currently one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. She had made her debut with Heropanti back in 2014 and now, she has made herself a bankable actress with several films in her kitty. However, the struggle to succeed was not a bed of roses. Kriti had started out as a model and in a recent interview, she recalled being yelled at publicly after her first ramp walk.

Talking to Brut India, Kriti revealed, “When I did my first ramp show, I remember I messed up somewhere in the choreography and the choreographer was very rude to me. She screamed at me in front of some 20 models at the end of the show. Whenever someone scolds me, I can just start crying like this (snaps fingers). So, I remember sitting in an auto and the moment I sat, I started crying."

It was her mother who gave her a reality check. She added, “I went back home and I cried to my mother. My mother was like, ‘I don’t know if this profession is for you. I don’t. You need to be emotionally way stronger, you need to be a thick-skinned person and you need to be a lot more confident than you are.’ And I think confidence is something that I gained with time.”

Kriti was last seen in Mimi where she played the role of a surrogate mother. Her performance in the film was appreciated by one and all.
