Kunal Kemmu’s Lootcase was one the most outstanding offerings of a bleak year like 2020. The film was ultimately released on OTT after shutters were pulled on movie theatres for months at a stretch. Kunal was happy with the appreciation from the audiences and letter of praise from Amitabh Bachchan but it is hardly forgettable how at the very onset the actor had expressed his disappointment the platform array of films had left him out from a press conference.

The actor had then posted a tweet venting his dismay and spoken about how the playing felid needs to be leveled for actors. Looking back and accounting for Lootcase’s success that came after the incident Kunal spoke to Mid-Day and pondered if that leveled things.

He told the publication, "It's still too early to gauge. Level playing field won't be easy to achieve. We all have to work together without mudslinging. When I tweeted, I wanted to initiate the dialogue without fear of losing work. I did feel a sense of hurt and these were the best words I could find."

Commenting on nepotism and getting his due the actor said that it gets frustrating at times but doesn’t want to dwell on the negative. “I work on myself and try to do a great performance and earn more work. I can't change favouritism or nepotism but I put blinders on. I don't want to get into a negative zone. This is a business built a certain way. Malpractices and wrong doings aside, actors are signing up for the slogging that entails the nature of show business,” he added.

In his tweet nearly a year ago during Lootcase’s announcement, Kunal had written, "Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai."
