Love Aaj Kal Day 2 Box-Office: Kartik-Sara Starrer Sees A Shocking Decline, Collects Just 8.01 Crores INR!

Those of us who follow the box-office numbers are well aware that the first weekend collection of any film is very crucial for it. In fact, since most opening days are not holidays, it is on the first Saturday that the film begins to pocket a good collection and then get an even better collection of the first Sunday before the weekday dip on Monday. It is a given that on the first Saturday, films would have a collection higher than Friday. But not for every film! Take for example Imtiaz Ali’s latest release, Love Aaj Kal.

The Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan starrer saw a significant dip in its box-office collection on the second day. The film, that opened at 12.40 crores INR collected just 8.01 crores INR on Day 2. The total collection of the film has gone up to 20.41 crores INR, but this trend is proof that the film is failing to attract the audiences to the theatre. While the metros were the main contributors to the box-office number on Day 1, on Day 2 the collection went down. The film has anyways not been the favourite of the mass circuits or the Tier 2 cities.

Well, it truly does need a miracle to now to survive at the box-office. What is worse for it is the fact that the film got a solo release and doesn’t have any major competitor. If the first weekend itself sees this sharp a decline, then it would be hard for the film to stay afloat on the weekdays to come.
