Madhuri Dixit Reveals People Used To Call Her ‘Very Skinny’ Before Her Breakthrough With Tezaab

Madhuri Dixit, the queen of hearts, is one of the most popular and adored actresses of the Hindi film industry. She has featured in some of the biggest super hit films of Bollywood and recently made her debut as a singer with her single ‘Candle’. However, there was a time in the initial stage of her career when the Dhak Dhak girl struggled to make her name big and many of her films turned out to be commercial failures. She eventually over came her struggles to become the wonder woman that she is today.

Talking about the same in a chat with Pinkvilla, Madhuri recalled how she began her career by playing small roles and juggled college side by side. Things changed when she featured in a small song in Subhash Ghai’s film Karma. He told her that he wants to cast her in his film Ram Lakhan if she stops doing smaller roles. Madhuri got some films after Karma but none of them did too well. She shared, “Initially I did some which did not do too well and that thing hit me that I don't have a hit film. And when things go wrong, people also say a lot of things, you know.”

When asked if the actress ever had to face nasty comments, she revealed, “Never on my face. At the most, they would say bahot dubli hai, she is very skinny but I overcame that and then Tezaab happened and then it didn't matter if I was skinny to them, everyone was fine then.”

Well, Madhuri Dixit’s journey is truly inspiring and we are glad she had the will to fight against all odds and carve a niche for herself in the industry.
