    For some time there have been reports doing the rounds that Sanjay Dutt’s iconic Khalnayak might be heading for a sequel. Madhuri Dixit, however, who also starred in the film and was the star one of the most popular songs of the film, ‘Choli ke peeche’ had no idea that a Khalnayak 2 is in works until she was recently asked about it in an interview.

    Fans no doubt might have had their hope up of seeing her being associated with the sequel too but on being asked about it in an interview by IANS the actress was surprised hearing about the sequel, "That's news to me. I have no idea. It is a surprise for me."

    On then being asked if she would be keen on being a project if she was approached Madhuri said, "It depends on the script, how they are planning to do, where they want to shoot. I think we will take things as they come. "

    The film's story revolves around the escape a criminal Ballu played by Sanjay Dutt, from prison by the and Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit, who play cops Ram and Ganga, to capture him. 

    The actress who claims to have never thought about the sequels to any of her popular films simply said "I think it's up to others," while for the time being she hopes to resume work on her projects that hang in the balance due to the lockdown.

    Madhuri who made her debut as a producer with Marathi projects like 15 August and Panchak last year spoke about continuing her stint and added, "I think the pandemic will dictate whatever we do. I don't know when things will open up completely, when we can start new projects. First, we will take care of projects that we are already doing.”

    Sanjay Dutt and Subhash Ghai have already confirmed that the Khalnayak sequel in works the actress, however, seems to have a lot of work to continue as the lockdown slowly lifts and shoots resume and the sequel to the 1993 hit seems to be far from her list of immediate priorities.
