Mahabharat Actor Nitish Bharadwaj Supports Same Sex Marriages, Says, "Why Should They Not Be Treated As Equals?"

The Delhi High Court has issued notice to the government to interpret the Special Marriage Act 1954 for the inclusion of same sex marriages in the country. The matter will be heard before the court on January 8 2021 and hopes of LGBTQ community are pinned to it. Speaking in favour of same sex marriages Mahabharat actor Nitish Bharadwaj has expressed his views on the matter and said that if the Supreme Court has quashed Section 377 of the IPC then there should be no issue in allowing marriages now.

The actor who is revered by millions in the country as Lord Krishna from Mahabharat while speaking to ETimes said, “If two individuals of the same sex are willing to give that commitment, bonding and love to a marriage, why not? There are also so many orphans in the country, so if they want to, they can even think of adoption. The LGBTQIA community should not be denied their desire to marry and reinforce family values. Let them also enjoy a family system, which is at the moment enjoyed by heterosexual couples.”

Not only this, the actor also spoke about giving equal opportunities to the LGBTQIA community and added that they should not be made to feel guilty for expressing themselves freely.
