Mahesh Babu Approached To Play Ram Opposite Deepika Padukone In Madhu Mantena's Ramayana?

Madhu Mantena's Ramayana has been grabbing headlines for a few days now. The film that will come out in 3D would reportedly have Deepika Padukone as Sita. It was earlier reported that Hrithik Roshan will play Ram in this one, but later reports claimed that he will play Raavan! Now, it seems like the makers are looking forward to cast a South superstar as Ram.

A report in Bollywood Hungama mentions that the original plan was to cast Prabhas as Ram, but the makers were shocked when they heard that he has been cast as Ram by Om Raut for Adipurush. So, after Prabhas was cancelled out, it looks like the script has gone to none other than Telugu star, Mahesh Babu. A source said, "Madhu has offered the film to Mahesh Babu who also liked the script. Madhu feels he has the innocence to pull off Shri Ram's character. Mahesh Babu, on the other hand, has liked the script but is yet to give his nod to the project."

Well, to have Mahesh Babu along with Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan will definitely give the film a star power like no other and this would be a huge crowd puller pan India. We have our fingers crossed that the South actor would give his nod and an official announcement would be made soon!
