Makers Of Khaali Peeli Working On Avoiding Legal Trouble With Beyoncé After Movie's Song Gets Called Out For Racism

The first track from Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer Khaali Peeli ‘Beyonce Sharma Jayegi’ might have landed the makers in trouble with the international pop queen herself. Turns out, Beyoncé has trademarked her name which is a protective measure by the singer against the unauthorized use of her name for commercial usage.

Since the makers of Khaali Peeli haven’t sought for her consent the song could land in trouble if the makers don’t take certain corrective measures right away. The song is already getting trolled for having racist undertones and Beyoncé’s decade old trademark doesn’t really help matters.

A source close to the production house tells Mid-Day, "Beyoncé has not only trademarked her name, but also won a long legal battle to copyright daughter Blue Ivy's name. In a pre-emptive move, the makers are now planning to rewrite the song to avoid legal repercussions. A final call will be taken this week. With the dance number being called out for racism, it will be an unwise move to take on an international star like Beyoncé, especially at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has set the stage for equality."

While nothing has been said on the matter from Beyoncé’s end it would only be wiser if the makers make amends before legal trouble comes knocking.
