Omung Kumar had done a tremendous job in bringing the life of India's finest boxer, Mary Kom onto the big screens. There had been some criticism for casting Priyanka as Mary, but there is no doubt that it panned out to be an excellent watch. Now, the director is all set to bring alive the life and journey of the oldest marathoner, Fauja Singh.

What would make the story more interesting is the fact that Fauja Singh was unable to walk till the age of 5, and was often teased because he had weak and thin legs. He was an amateur runner, but gave it up during the partition. It was at the age of 89 that he took running seriously and started to train for marathons. At the age of 100, he became the first 100 year old to finish a marathon. Talking to Midday about the project, Omung Kumar said, “His story depicts the insurmountable odds stacked against him, and what sheer will-power can make of someone who is challenged medically, by age and by society.”

The film is expected to go on floors by mid 2021. It would be produced by Raaj Shandilyaa, along with Kumar and Kunal Shivdasani. Raaj said, “This story takes us on a journey through time, and makes us realise what [the earlier generations] have been through.”
