Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan’s hit track Masakali from Delhi-6 is undoubtedly one of the coolest songs ever made. Helmed by A. R. Rahman, it is a perfect combination of foot-tapping music and catchy lyrics. So, when it was reported that Marjaavaan co-stars Tara Sutaria and Sidharth Malhotra will be featuring in a recreated version titled Masakali 2.0, fans were obviously a little cynical. Well, the video has finally released and it is sure to change your mind!

While the original was a masterpiece, the reboot is also pretty great. Recreated by Tanishk Bagchi and directed by Aadil Hussain, it begins with Sidharth and Tara sneaking into someone else’s’ hotel room and dancing their hearts out. While Sidharth’s naughty avatar will surprise you, Tara’s charming smile is sure to win your heart. They look absolutely stunning together and their dance moves paired with their sizzling chemistry will make you want to groove along. The video is truly a delight to watch and we are sure you will end up playing it on a loop.

The lyrics, however, are not that impressive and we wish they used the original for Masakali 2.0 as well. The music, on the other hand, is pretty amazing. Singers Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon have given the song a ‘fun, sexy spin’, as described by Tara in an earlier interview. All in all, it’s a good song and is quite entertaining, but shouldn’t be compared to A. R. Rahman’s version.

What did you think of Sidharth and Tara’s Masakali 2.0?
