Milap Zaveri and John Abraham to be back with Satyamev Jayate 3, ctor considers working with the filmmaker his 'cheat day'

John Abraham’s fully filmy cop avatar is all set to grace the cinemas this week with Satyamev Jayate 2. The star whose first theatrical release Mumbai Saga couldn’t do much to revive the box office before the second wave of Covid-19 hit the country will now be seen flexing his biceps and punching his way through the scenes targeting single screen audiences.

As fans await this massy entertainer, Satyamev Jayate 2’s director Milap Zaveri opened up about reuniting with John Abraham for a sequel to 2018 original which proved to be one of the biggest films of that year. Talking to Mid-Day about John being a part of the project despite it not being in tune with the actor’s sensibilities the filmmaker said, “John has shown faith in me, and it’s scary too because I have to live up to his expectations.” He further added, “His sensibility is reflected in Parmanu [2018] and Batla House [2019]. He often jokes that Milap is my cheat day. We have a deal — even when he is 90, he has to do SJ 30.” Keeping in line with that vision, Zaveri has already got John’s assent for a third film in the franchise.

The filmmaker also spoke about the trailer starting a meme fest and is only busy looking at the bright side of it all. He told the publication, “If intellectuals don’t like my movie, I don’t care. Between critical acclaim and box office, I choose the latter. Memes add buzz to my movie. It’s better to be talked about, even if trolled, than to go unnoticed. The day SJ stops working, I have enough capability to reinvent.”

Stayamev Jataye 2 also starring Divya Khosla Kumar arrives in theatres on 25 November.
