Mohabbatein Actor Jugal Hansraj Reveals His First Two Films Never Went On Floors; Faced Setbacks Even As A Director

Jugal Hansraj has been a part of the industry for a really long time, though he has not been under the limelight as much as he should have been. He had started off his career as a child artist and gave an impactful performance in Mohabattein. His first directorial, Roadside Romeo, even won three National Awards. As of now, he remains away from Bollywood mostly and has turned an author too. He has also revealed that many of his projects were never made and how it affected him.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Jugal revealed, “The first film I signed with Manmohan Desai which didn't start, after a year and a half I got signed by Pahlaj Nihalani which also didn't start and then my third film was Aa Gale Lag Ja started. I took up films with very big directors, who were big producers at that time -names like Raj Sippy, Mahesh Bhatt, Yash Johar ji, who were nice and I was very excited to work with them. But for reasons not in control, the films did not go on floors. Initially, I was very young around 19, my first film was signed and when it did not take off, it did affect me quite a lot. I would go in a shell and not talk to anyone. I was very sad and depressed, but as I got old, I shrugged it off. There were more important things in life. Now, it doesn't affect. I move on pretty quickly."

He also added that he met with a similar fate as a director as well. He said, “After Pyaar Impossible, I almost was to direct a film for Excel Entertainment but again for some reason regarding rights that film was shelved. Again with Ashutosh Gowariker, a similar thing happened. As an actor and director as well, there have been a lot of projects like this.”

Well, the fact that he was able to deal and overcome this is a big thing in itself! Is it often failures that helps an individual learn and grow and we are happy that Jugal Hansraj did not lose heart after these setbacks.
