Naseeruddin Shah Calls Anupam Kher A ‘Clown’ Who Should Not Be Taken Seriously! Watch Video

Naseeruddin Shah is a man who is vocal about his political affiliations and is strictly against the CAA-NRC that the present government is trying to bring to the nation. While the government promised that the oppressed minorities from other nations would benefit from the Citizenship Amendment Act, those who are opposing it feel that the act, combined with NRC is a threat to the secularity that defines India.  In a recent interview with The Wire, the veteran actor spoke about the stir created by CAA and NRC. But what caught our attention was his take on A Wednesday co-star and actor Anupam Kher.

In the interview, when the senior journalist asks him about Anupam Kher, who is pro CAA and NRC and is supportive of the present government, Naseeruddin Shah not just dismissed him but also called him a ‘clown’ who should not be taken seriously. He even said that those who have been with him in NSD and FTII can attest his ‘sycophantic ‘nature, which is in his blood and cannot be avoided. The clip has become viral on social media now. He also spoke about the silence of the A-listers on the matter and said, "As far as the established figures are considered, it’s understandable why they don’t speak up. One does wonder how much do they have to lose? Haven’t you made enough to last you seven generations? It’s like this line from Gibran - 'Dread of thirst when your well is full/ The thirst that is unquenchable.'” He also lauded Deepika Padukone for showing solidarity with the attacked students of Jawaharlal Nehru University and said, “Deepika Padukone has a lot to lose and she did come out in public to show her solidarity.”
