Nawazuddin Siddiqui Reveals Best & Worst Thing About Being An Actor; Feels Gangs Of Wasseypur Changed His Life

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is undoubtedly one of the most versatile and talented actors of the Hindi film industry. Each time he shines on the big screen, he introduces us to a unique character, completely different from anything we’ve seen him do before. For instance, in the past one year he won our hearts over and over again with his back to back releases including Ghoomketu, Raat Akeli Hai and Serious Men. And now he is riding high on the success of his first ever romantic music video, Baarish Ki Jaaye, opposite Sunanda Sharma. Is there any genre that he hasn’t been a part of?

Well, in a recent chat with ETimes, Nawazuddin was asked the best and worst thing about being an actor. He replied, “The best thing is that you get a chance to live varied lives in the forms of the characters you play in a film. The worst thing about being an actor is that, after you are done with a film and the character you were playing, a lot of things go away from your life too. Being an actor is like being an empty utensil. You have to fill yourself with the thoughts of the character you are playing. After you are done shooting for the film, you have to empty yourself again. Sometimes, you have to do the emptying very ruthlessly, because unless you do, you cannot make place for the new character.”

He also shared that while all his projects have affected his life in some way or another, it was Anurag Kashyap's gangster epic Gangs of Wasseypur which changed his career completely. Also starring Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi and Tigmanshu Dhulia, the 2012 crime drama is considered to be one of the best films of the 21st century.
