Neena Gupta Opens Up About Daughter Masaba's Relationship With Vivian Richards, Says 'Why Should I Poison Her Thoughts?'

Years ago when Neena Gupta had taken the bold step to have a child out of wedlock. She was determined to never bring out the name of the father out in the open, but it was the media that meddled in the private matter and got the name from the birth certificate of the child. Masaba Gupta is a grown woman now, who has carved a niche for herself as a fashion designer and has proved to be a talented actress with her performance in Masaba Masaba. Now, in a recent interview, Neena Gupta has opened up about the relationship that Masaba shared with her father, Vivian Richards. She also added that since they respect each other, Masaba also learnt to respect both her parents.

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Neena Gupta said, “I had Masaba because I loved Vivian. And if you love somebody, you can’t hate somebody like that. You may not live or do things together – woh dheere dheere pata chalta hai. But you can’t hate. Aisa toh nahi hota ki aaj love hai toh kal suddenly you late. And how can you put this thing in your daughter’s mind about her father. I don’t want to and don’t feel it. Why should I poison her thoughts? I have respect for him, he respects me and so, she has respect for both of us. It’s a very simple thing.”

She further added, “As far as love is concerned, I have come to a conclusion. What I have understood is that real love exists only between parents and children. Baki koi love nahi hota. Woh pehle lust hota hai, phir habit hoti hai and then, it’s caring, This is what I think.”

Neena Gupta was recently seen in the film, Sardar Ka Grandson where she played a 90 year old. Her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, would also be releasing soon.
