New Details About Saif Ali Khan's Lankesh In Adipurush Emerge, To Be Shown As 9 Ft. Tall With Thick Moustache & Long Hair

One of the biggest film announcements of 2020 has been Saif Ali Khan and Prabhas starrer Adipurush which will be helmed by filmmaker Om Raut. Revisiting the mythological epic Ramayan for a grand silver screen adaptation, the makers are busy preparing to set the cameras rolling from January 19.

According to a Mid-Day report, Prabhas, Saif and Kriti Sanon who will feature in the film have been engrossed in workshops before the project goes on floors later in the month. The film will focus on the faceoff between Prabhas who plays Ram and Saif Ali Khan’s Lankesh and now exciting new details about the latter’s character as the antagonist have emerged getting us even more excited about the venture.

A source close to the publication informs how the evil Ravana will shape out to be and sounds like it will be avatar fans have never seen Saif in before."In Adipurush, Lankesh — another name for Ravana — will be seen as a towering personality. Saif's height will be enhanced to eight or nine feet, using special effects, to depict his larger-than-life persona. The actor will sport a thick moustache, long hair and a muscular build," the publication quoted the source saying.

Saif not long ago had landed in a controversy when described his character in Adipurush to be portraying a humanised Ravana. The actor later apologized for hurting the sentiments of believers and assured that fans that the portrayal of Ravana in the film will be without distortions.

The dialogue writer for Adipurush Manoj Muntashir also stood by Saif’s statement and told the publication "Saif was recently trolled for his remarks about [humanising] Lankesh, but there is nothing offensive in the film. Saif was misunderstood. Ravana is perceived as an all-black figure, but in our film, he will be seen in all his shades. He will be shown as a flamboyant king, who was also cruel and sadistic.”

Adipurush is aiming at a 2022 release.
