Not Ayushmann Khurrana But These Two Actors Were Offered Andhadhun First!

Andhadhun has been hailed as one of the best films of 2018 and thanks to the direction and the execution, the film has already attained a cult status. About a pianist who aspires to bring more creativity into work and can go to any lengths to find his inspiration, this film has also been recognised by the committee of the 66^th National Film Awards. In fact, the film won the Best Hindi Film Award, the award for Adapted Screenplay and also earned Ayushmann Khurrana his first ever National Award in the Best Actor (Male) category. But did you know that Ayushmann was not actually the first choice to play the blind pianist Akash?

Yes you read that right. In fact, not one but two actors were offered the role before it went to Ayushmann Khurrana. And the first one is none other than Varun Dhawan.

Actually, Sriram Raghavan had come up with the concept for this film when he saw the song, “Kuch Toh Hai Tujhse Raabta” from Agent Vinod. But thanks to a number of setbacks, he started working on Badlapur with Varun. He wanted Varun for Andhadhun as well, but by the time the film was developed and all the rights were bought, he had been busy with other projects.

And the second person to have turned down the film is none other than Harshvardhan Kapoor. Yes! He was offered the film and he had also given his nod. However, by the time everything was ready, he had already committed himself for Bhavesh Joshi and the dates were clashing. So, Harshvardhan had to give Andhadhun a pass.
