Paatal Lok Star Anup Jalota Says Being On Bigg Boss Was The Toughest Role To Perform

Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota recently made his acting debut with Amazon Prime’s web series Paatal Lok. Backed by Anushka Sharma’s production banner Clean Slate Films, the show follows the life of a Delhi cop named Hathiram Chaudhary, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, who lands a high profile case that changes his life. Anup ji portrayed the role of politician Balkishan Bajpayee in the much-loved series and left the audience impressed with his performance.

Talking about the same in a chat with Bollywood Hungama, the musician revealed that the series was titled Jamuna Paar when he received the offer from Anushka’s office. The team informed him that the role was of a politician and he would need to shoot for eight days in Chitrakoot and a couple more days in Mumbai. He shared, “They said I had the correct look for it. I agreed without a second thought.” When asked if he would consider acting offers that he gets in the future, Anup ji stated that if he gets more interesting roles he would definitely take them up.

The Bigg Boss 12 contestant, who participated in the reality show with his student and rumored girlfriend Jasleen Matharu, feels that it is never too late to take up a new challenge. He went on to add, “And this was an easy one. Playing the Dalit political leader was not difficult at all. After all I had been on Bigg Boss which is the toughest role to perform for any actor.”

After his eviction from the reality show, Anup ji had clarified that his romantic relationship with Jasleen was staged. We wonder if that’s what he’s talking about.
