Deepika Padukone's Padmavati To Be Renamed As Padmavat, Censor Board Prescribes Three More Changes.

Ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali had announced his film Padmavati, it had been under a lot of controversies. First, the film ran into trouble with the casting for the character of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Once Shahid Kapoor agreed to play the role, the film has been stuck into a soup because the Karni Sena seems to have a major problem with the film. Padmavati was supposed to release on 1st December 2017, but thanks to ongoing controversies and some bending of the rules from the side of the makers, the film has been postponed.

But there is good news for fans who are had been eagerly waiting to see the film. The film has been cleared by the Censor Board. But that has also come at a cost

The Censor Board has prescribed a few changes in the film before it can be released. The first and the major change is that the film's name must be changed to Padmavat instead of Padmavati!

There are 3 more changes that the Central Board Of Film Certification has prescribed for the film. Firstly, the makers have been told to run additional disclaimers throughout the film. They have also been told that in no way shall 'sati' or johar (as it was called in those days) be glorified in the film. The CBFC has also asked the makers to change some sequences in the Ghoomar song. There will also be close to 26 cuts in the film!

The further developments will take place once the makers agree to the modifications. But once agreed, the film will get a U/A certificate from the censor board!
