    Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure regrets not becoming a singer like is the legacy in her family with her aunts being iconic singers like Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeskar. Her father Pandharinath Kolhapure was also a musician but Padmini entered films and surely aced her career as an actress and inspired another generation of actors.

    “I wanted to become a playback singer but then destiny took a turn. Of course, took a great turn. But I do sort of regret not being a playback singer. I just loved singing, even now I love to sing,” Padmini told Indian Express in an interview. The actress further said that while her journey in films has been hassle-free if it had not worked out she would have turned to singing.

    The actress when asked if kids in the family like her son Priyaank or niece Shraddha Kapoor were pushed to carry forward their parents legacy, Padmini told the publication, “Not at all. There is no stress for Shraddha or Priyaank. We just encouraged them. She added that initially, Shraddha had no plans of entering films, “Priyaank had the ambition to get into films but Shraddha and Siddhant never expressed that they wanted to do movies. Suddenly, one fine day, she just decided,” she said.
