Pakistani Bowler Shoaib Akhtar Was A Crazy Fan Of Bollywood Actress Sonali Bendre, Carried Her Picture In His Wallet And Even Wanted To Kidnap Her

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre was very close to having her own Darr moment and the obsessed loverboy was none other than Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib Akhtar has been a dreaded bowler all over the world and this man had a weak spot for Sonali Bendre.

Shoaib had seen Sonali for the first time in the film English Babu Desi Mem and had developed a crush on her ever since. His room was apparently filled with pictures of the actress. In fact, in an old report, it had been stated that his obsession was such that he carried a picture of Sonali in his wallet. In an interview, he had also revealed that if Sonali refuses his proposal, he would have to kidnap her then.

Well, thankfully nothing of that sort happened. Sonali got married to producer Goldie Behl in 2002. When Sonali was once quizzed about whether she knows about Shoaib’s crush on her, she said,

"I don't know any Pakistani cricketer named Shoaib Akhtar as I'm not a cricket fan at all. It's funny that every time India plays Pakistan, the media swamps me with calls to find out about him. I've heard he's my fan. All I can say is I'm thankful for that."

Sonali Bendre has now become a name synonymous to bravery after she had been fighting against high-grade metastatic cancer. She had been having her treatment in New York and is now in India.
