Pankaj Tripathi is all praises for his Mimi co-star Kriti Sanon; Says ‘She is not an airhead’

After winning hearts with his performances in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Fukrey, Stree and Ludo, Pankaj Tripathi is back to shine on our screens with Mimi. What’s most exciting about the project is the fact that this time he is the leading star! Featuring the beautiful Kriti Sanon in the titular role, the Laxman Utekar directorial is a remake of Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! While Kriti is seen as a surrogate in the story, Pankaj has portrayed the role of Bhanupratap Pandey.

In an interview with Spotboye, the actor opened up about his role and shared, “I play the leading man, not the heroine’s father, not the hero’s mentor. It is a refreshing change. From playing bit roles, any and everything that came my way, to the lead… I look back at my journey with pride and humility. I never planned anything. I kept acting in whatever films came my way because I love to act. I never thought I would get better roles. Because I didn’t think of roles as good or bad. They were an opportunity to act.”

Talking about his gorgeous co-actor, Pankaj stated, “Kriti Sanon is an educated, well-read, articulate actress. She is not an airhead. She knows what she's doing. Working with her was such a joy.” The versatile actor went on to add that he and Kriti would speak on various subjects during their time on the set, not just about cinema.

Well, watching them together is always a delight. So go watch Mimi if you haven’t already. We assure you, it will not disappoint.
