Pankaj Tripathi Reacts To Viral 'His Neck Deserves An Award’ Meme; Says "I Saw That Video And Found It Very Interesting"

Actor Pankaj Tripathi adds life to a character whenever he comes on-screen. After his brilliant performance in the Mirzapur series, the actor has again impressed the audience with his impeccable acting skills and personality. The little gestures that he does along with the acting makes his character look more appealing. Recently a meme that has gone viral on social media shows exactly how Tripathi strikes a chord with his audience without delivering the dialogues. The meme appreciates the actor’s ‘neck movements’ that communicate more than his dialogues in the series.

In a recent interview with India.com, Pankaj Tripathi spoke about the viral meme and revealed that it was his idea of extemporization. Tripathi revealed that it takes years of struggle for an actor to build such tiny gestures. He said,  “I knew how I had to portray Kaleen Bhaiyaa from the very beginning of the show. I had to make him look like a man who speaks less and communicate more with his gestures. I saw that video and I found it very interesting. An actor has to involve himself entirely right from head to toe to perform even that slight movement. That tiny movement has come from the soul,”

Tripathi has the trait to make every character he portrays look real, for that he adds his bits and pieces to the character. He makes sure that his dialogues and gestures kindle the audience in every way. One such instance was when the actor added the famous Aadhar card’ dialogue in Stree which was an impromptu addition to the script.

While talking about these additions, Pankaj said these things are not written in the scripts, When asked about the ‘neck movements’ he did in the series was his improvisation, he said, “Yes, of course. These things are not written in the script. No one tells you what gestures to use. The writer mentions the emotion but not the gesture. You will be told that ‘you are angry over something and you have to do this’ but you won’t be told about the gesture. It’s the job of the actor.”
