Paresh Rawal To Complete Rishi Kapoor's Portions In His Last Film Sharmaji Namkeen, Makers Set A Special Release Date

Late Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor’s last film Sharmaji Namkeen which remains to be completed has now been given a release date. The movie which would have marked the on-screen reunion of Kapoor with Bol Radha Bol co-star Juhi Chawla after several years will be completed by the makers and released on the late actor’s birth anniversary in September.

In the latest update on the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that veteran actor Paresh Rawal has agreed to fill in for Rishi Kapoor’s absence and complete his remaining portions. With that decision the makers have now decided on Rishi Kapoor’s birthday as the theatrical release date, that is, 4 September 2021.

In a tweet Taran informs, "PARESH RAWAL TO COMPLETE RISHI KAPOOR'S PORTIONS... Since the shoot of #RishiKapoor's last film #SharmajiNamkeen is pending, #PareshRawal has agreed to complete the remainder of the film *in the same role*... The film will release on 4 Sept 2021, #RishiKapoor's birth anniversary."

Sharmaji Namkeen directed by Hitesh Bhatia was being filmed when the coronavirus pandemic brought all shoots to a staggering halt. Rishi Kapoor’s cancer relapsed and his health deteriorated before the film could be completed. The veteran star passed away on April 30, 2020 in a Mumbai based hospital. The makers now plan to release the film as a tribute to the late actor.
