Parineeti Chopra Agrees Saina Is Suffering At The Box Office, Is Still Happy Her Films Released In Theatres; Here's Why

Bollywood is still facing the wrath of the Covid-19 pandemic as films releasing in theatres continue to suffer due to low occupancy. In February, the government allowed cinemas to operate at full capacity but that seems to have not helped the matter especially due to the second wave of Covid-19 hitting many states with full force. Parineeti Chopra's sports drama Saina is currently struggling in cinema halls but the actress is happy that it released.

One user on Twitter observed how it was a shame that two good performances of the actress had to suffer back to back due to the pandemic and the poor planning for releasing them. Before Saina last Friday, Parineeti has had one more theatrical release, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, while her film The Girl On The Train had released on Netflix earlier in the year.

“Two good films of @ParineetiChopra in these two weeks went unnoticed due to horrible release dates and poor strategies. These film specially #Saina could have done wonders at boxoffice on normal date ...” the user wrote.

Parineeti, however, weighed in on the whole matter and agreed that the box office of her two theatrical releases did suffer but added that the films paved the way to normalcy and got great reviews from both audiences and critics which she saw as a win.

“Agree about the BO numbers, but I am grateful that despite releasing our films during the pandemic, we have won the love of critics and audiences in such a hugeee way! Small steps, but the journey back has started,” the actress replied.

Parineeti has been hailed for her differentiated and powerful performances in all three films that released this year.
