Parineeti Chopra Relived Traumatic Memories While Shooting For The Girl On The Train: This Film Has Taken Me To Hell And Back

Parineeti Chopra is being hailed on social media ever since the trailer of her film The Girl on the Train released online. The Netflix offering shows Parineeti dipping her toes for the first time into something darker and casting aside her happy go lucky side. The actress reveals that pulling off the film was no easy feat for her as she had to revisit some traumatic memories of her own to get into the skin of her character.

The film is a cinematic adaptation of author Paula Hawkins’s 2015 book by the same name and is being helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta. The actress talks all about filming The Girl on the Train and tells Mid Day, “I have tapped into my innermost traumatic memories to bring this character to life. I don’t remember how many times I broke down on the set because I was revisiting memories that I had buried deep in my mind and heart.”

The Hasee Toh Phasee star also said that she knew that the film would be emotionally taxing from the word goes but did not divulge further about the personal incidents she drew from to play the part. “I never wanted to face those incidents again. [But] I realised that to be able to pull off this character, I will have to dig deep into my past and confront the pain [I endured] in my personal life. This film has taken me to hell and back because it constantly kept me on the edge. It wasn’t easy [to be in this state] before every shot,” she added.

The Girl on the Train releases on 26 February on Netflix.
