Payal Ghosh Ready To Apologize To Richa Chadha But With Certain Conditions, Lawyer To Bombay HC

Payal Ghosh who has been in the headlines for quite a while now, the actress has finally agreed to apologize to Richa Chadha in the defamation suit filed by the Fukrey actress. For the uninitiated, Richa Chadha filed a legal complaint against Payal for the defamatory statements the latter made in a television interview.

Earlier too, Payal had agreed in the court to apologize to Richa and settle the matter, but later the actress took to her social media handle and said that she won’t apologize to anyone. The Bombay HC on Monday gave Payal and Richa two days to file consent terms in the settlement of the defamation case. 

Now as per the latest reports, Payal has agreed in the court to withdraw her statement and apologize but with certain conditions. Payal's lawyer Nitin Satpute said that his client is ready to apologize but she will do so only if Richa doesn't file any criminal case after settling the matter.  “After settling this matter, the plaintiff (Richa) should not file any criminal case against Payal," Satpute said.

Nitin also told the court, "After the last hearing, Ms. Chadha made certain statements to the media saying she has won the case. That resulted in Ms. Ghosh being trolled on social media. But she would like to settle the matter." 

The Bombay HC has given the deadline to both the parties that consent terms should be filed at the earliest. "If you both are settling the matter, then it would be best if you talk to each other instead of others and file the consent terms," the court has adjourned the matter to be heard on 14 October.
