PM Narendra Modi Review: Vivek Oberoi Has Outdone himself; The Film Will Surely Tug At Your Heart Strings!

    Film - PM Narendra Modi

Actors - Vivek Oberoi, Suresh Oberoi, Zarina Wahab

    Director - Omung Kumar

    Rated - 3.5 out of 5

My Verdict - Vivek Oberoi outdoes himself, people will be relieved, they have elected Narendra Modi once again as the PM

There are many biopics being churned out day in and day out but this one surely is different. And the sole reason being that this film is about the prime minister of our country. It depicts his life, his journey, and his experiences on the big screen!

According to me, the film could not have a much more apt time than now. That’s because now the Modi government has come to power, there is a Modi wave that is much bigger than the last time and there is a huge surge of love for him in the hearts of the commoners now than ever was. Therefore, the will surely will reap the benefits of it all.

Coming to the narrative. It would really be extra help to the viewer if he or she doesn’t keep an expectation that he or she will get to see the unadulterated life of their prime minister because that clearly is not the case. there have been fabrications, there is a lot of whitewashing done and the biopic elevates our PM to a Godly status! At the same time, there are a lot of instances in the film that has been taken from real life and have been moulded for the viewing public.

Pm Narendra Modi Review: Vivek Oberoi Has Outdone himself; The Film Will Surely Tug At Your Heart Strings!

What the film does is, it tugs on to your heartstrings, it tugs on to your emotions. That’s exactly what it did to me, I felt emotional, I felt a drop of tear slid down my cheek and that is all that matters. A film is a film is a film. It is meant to entertain and entertainment can be gotten in myriad forms.

As far as the performances are concerned, Vivek Oberoi has outdone himself. There are no doubts about how Vivek as an actor is. He is superlative. And in this film, he reaffirms that! He just becomes Modi, somehow his innate emotions show and the way they come out transform him into something else. Besides Vivek, his father Suresh Oberoi too plays a crucial role, a role that makes Vivek’s character realise his path.

Now, speaking of the differences between the narrative and the reality. One thing that we all know is that our Prime Minister MR Narendra Modi is married, however, in the film he says he doesn’t want to get married and wants to walk the path of the Gautama and he leaves for the mountains!  Well, cinematic liberty you see!!

The Godhra Kand and the Akshar Dham Mandir Bombings were juxtaposed in the film and the media too was portrayed in a negative light. Nothing on the part of Narendra was wrong!

Keeping all of that aside, the film will definitely well up emotions in the minds of the viewers. The people will enjoy every bit of the film and deep down somewhere they will be relieved that they have elected Narendra Modi yet again as their PM.

The make-up department requires a special mention because with all meticulousness Narendra Modi’s looks have been recreated. Right from the shape of his lips to his complexion, from the fat of his cheeks to the bushy eyebrows, every detail has been taken into consideration and Vivek pulled off the look like a pro by imbibing certain very precise body language and the Gujrati diction. The music department as well was commendable, the songs were hair raising and they were on point. The cinematography though at times looked jarring because there were too many round Steadicam shots that were unnecessary.

All in all a nicely made film and it surely is a one-time watch!
