Pooja Bedi Says In Her Time Actresses Had To Be 'Boyfriend-Free, Virgin, & Unmarried', Talks About Alaya's Dating Rumours

After a smashing debut in 2020 with Jawaani Jaaneman, everyone wants to know more about Alaya F. The actress whose performance definitely caught the eye of the audiences has been in the news for several reasons since including rumours of her dating late politician Bal Thackeray’s grandson, Aaishvary Thackery.

Aaishvary has been spotted by Alaya’s side on several occasions and her mother Pooja Bedi on being asked to share her opinion about these rumours had a rather vague response.

Pooja told Times Of India, “As far as personal life goes, there are always speculations. I’ve seen about seven news items about who they think Alaya is dating, and then there’s a question of who she actually wants to be with. Either way, irrespective of whatever it is, the point essentially is that in today’s day and age, it is not necessary for an actor to be projected a certain way. In my time, things were so different! You had to be boyfriend-free, a virgin, and unmarried. Today, every single human is entitled to have a personal life.”

Talking further about the shift in mentality the actress commented, “Kareena Kapoor Khan is doing well even after marriage. So, I would say, there’s been a sea change in the industry and it has happened because the mentality of the audience has changed dramatically, thanks to social media. Talking about Alaya, she’s completely focused on where she's going and who she is.”

Alaya herself has frequently been asked to comment on her relationship with Aaishvary. In an interview with the same publication earlier the actress while speaking her equation with Aaishvary said, “He is a very good friend. I know it is a cliche thing to say, but we are very good family friends. Our moms know each other, my grandad knows his mom, we have known each other for a very long time. It’s just now that the media notices a photo of us together and assumes that something is going on. We have been doing acting classes for a very long time, and also go to dance classes together; if the paparazzi had clicked us earlier, they would have a lot more pictures. That’s why we are bound to click together; I find him to be quite funny.”
