Pratik Gandhi reveals his family was homeless once despite living in Mumbai for a decade, opens up about struggles before fame

Like any outside before him in Bollywood, Pratik Gandhi has had to face his own share of personal struggles before he could eventually find stardom in the entertainment industry with the web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story least year.

Pratik opened up about his journey before Scam in a recent interview with an entertainment portal and got candid about his family’s struggle to sustain in Mumbai and about his father’s demise after battling cancer. The actor told Bollywood Bubble that he has seen financial struggles and medical issues at home but it never made him give up or have a moment of self-doubt.

He told Bollywood Bubble, “I guess everybody goes through this. There were some medical emergencies at home, be it my wife's brain tumour operation, my father's cancer. Eventually, we lost him in 2018. Buying a house in Mumbai is a big deal. Even after a decade of being in Mumbai, there was a time when we didn't have a house, suddenly the whole family was homeless. You struggle at that time, you manoeuver yourself, your emotions, and the whole family. And when you have a full-fledged family and you decide to quit your stable job and get into something like this, that is another struggle.”

The Scam 1992 star left his corporate job to pursue acting film time. He starred predominantly in Gujarati cinema and has also done films like Loveyatri and Mitron.

Pratik is now ready to make his Bollywood debut as a leading man with the film Bhavai. The film is a love story based on the backdrop of a Ram Leela where the star play Ravan and fall in love with Aindrita Ray who plays Sita in the skit. Film earlier scheduled for 2 October has now been pushed to release on October 22.
