Talking to the press about the shoot of this film, director Shonali Bose had revealed how much Priyanka had invested into the film. Talking about a particularly emotional shot, the director said that Priyanka broke down on the sets and could not stop crying long after she had said ‘cut. Accroding to a report by Mumbai Mirror, Shonali said,

"Another emotional shoot was when she had to break down after a scene. After I called “cut”, I hugged her and she couldn’t stop crying. She kept whispering, “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry. I know now what it means to lose a child. I am so sorry for Ishlu.” I continued holding her."

Shonali referred to late son, Ishaan as Ishlu. She had lost him to a freak accident in 2013. In fact, what drew her to Aisha’s story was the fact that her parents, Niren and Aditi managed to stay together after the death of their daughter, while she separated from her husband after her son’s death.

In fact, Priyanka had requested Shonali to call Rohit Saraf, who plays her on-screen son, as Ishlu, even though in real life, Aditi never referred to her son with that nickname.

"Priyanka called Ishan “Ishlu” which is not a name Aditi calls her son by. Priyanka heard me calling my Ishan that when I spoke about him and asked me, “Can I call him Ishlu in this scene?” I just smiled from ear to ear.”

She also revealed that Priyanka did a fantastic job in the film, and was spontaneous in every scene.

"Priyanka has done such a good job. In one particular scene, she was just sitting while tears rolled down her face and it was such a natural piece of acting."

The Sky Is Pink is all set to release on 11th October and stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Sharaf.
