BAFTA this year expended the eligibility period for its Film Awards. The move from the academy came after the dry spell in theatres worldwide last year due to which the awards which are generally held in January were also pushed back and will now take place in April 2021.

The movie released on Netflix on January 13 2021. The film highlights the difference between the haves and the have-nots in India where a small town driver Balram Halwai fights his fate to move up social ladder.
