Priyanka Chopra initially thought the lockdown was going to be a vacation, cried when she had to resume work: 'I was terrified'

Priyanka Chopra may be hopping from the sets of one project to another these days but resuming work during the pandemic surely wasn’t an easy decision for this international star.

“When the pandemic started, I was sleeping in, vegetating on the couch, binge-watching, not working out, eating whatever I wanted. I was like, ‘This is going to be a vacation.’ But when there was no end in sight, I understood that people were going to figure out how to work in spite of that,” Priyanka told Vogue India during an interview.

The first project that ultimately got Priyanka to leave the comfort of her home was Matrix 4 which was being shot in Berlin. “I cried on the plane. I was terrified,” the actress revealed while speaking about her trip to Germany where she resumed work. Her fears were eased as she got around to work on a set with stringent Covid-19 protocols being followed.

Priyanka followed up The Matrix 4 by shooting for Text For You which also stars Sam Heughan and moved base to London where she was finally able to feel more settled thanks to husband Nick Jonas. “He, my mum, my family came with me and we spent Christmas and New Year’s together while I was filming. It was really nice to not have to come back to an empty home. Nick wanted to help me settle in. Then, when everyone left, I got on to Citadel,” She added.

The actress is busy wrapping up Citadel with Richard Madden. She also has the Bollywood road trip film Je Le Zaraa with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif to shoot after.
