Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle have been friends long before the latter joined the British Royal family and became the Duchess of Sussex. Even though the two friends have not had the chance to catch up after their respective weddings, the passion and warmth with which they speak about each other has gone anywhere.

Recently the news that Priyanka paid a visit to Meghan Markle and her newborn son Archie, sent the fans into a frenzy but the Quantico actress was quick to shoot down all such reports stating that she was in London for work. She wrote on Twitter, “while these are great gift ideas... this story is untrue, and I was actually in town for work. I hope whoever this "source" is starts checking their facts more often.”

The actress, however, gave an interview to The Sunday Times and spoke at length about Meghan stating that her friend has been a victim of racism.

Speaking about Meghan and the criticism she’s facing Priyanka said, "I've seen that and it's really unfortunate. But if there's anyone who can handle it, it's her. Of course, it has to do with racism, it's an obvious reason." She went on to add, "The beauty of Meg is that she's been herself through all of this. A lot of people got to know her after everything, but I knew her before [she started dating Harry] and she's the same chick. Now she's got a real platform, she talks about the same things she always did."

After the Duchess of Sussex gave Priyanka’s wedding to Nick Jonas a miss, rumor mills have been rife that all is not well between the two ladies. PC’s statements however cleared it up that all is indeed well. Taking a trip down the memory lane she recalled how she bonded with Meghan, "We spent hours speaking about the difference that influence and dialogue can make to the world before this whole thing happened, so what you see now is authentically her. She's always been the girl wanting to move the needle."
