Punjabi Singer Diljaan Dies At 31 In A Car Accident While Driving From Amritsar To His Hometown Kartarpur

Popular Punjabi singer Diljaan died in a car accident on the Amritsar-Delhi national highway on Tuesday. He was 31.

The singer, who was going to Kartarpur his hometown, lost control of his car while negotiating a curve near Jandiala Guru town and collided with a divider, the police informed PTI. The singer was alone in the car.

The accident took place about 70 kilometers ahead of Amritsar and due to the collision the car overturned and Dijaan did not survive the crash and was declared on arrival at the hospital immediately after the accident after being rescued by a few Sikh devotees returning from Hola Mohalla.

Dijaan started his career as a reality show participant on Sur Kshetra in 2012. He later went on to sing many popular Punjabi songs as well as devotional numbers.

Several celebrities from Punjab expressed their grief over the singer’s sudden demise including Roshan Prince, Ravinder Grewal and Master Saleem. The Chief Minister Of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh also condoled the death of the singer in a tweet. He wrote, “Shocked at the tragic death of young and promising Punjabi singer Diljaan in a road accident earlier today. It is extremely sad to lose young lives like these on road. My condolences to the family, friends and fans. RIP!”

The singer is survived by his wife and children, who are in Canada at present, they added.
