Having said that, two years ago, Sonu Sood attained the rights to make a movie on Sindhu. The player who is currently preparing to get a gold medal at the Olympics 2020 had a conversation with the Hindustan Times and expressed her desire to see Deepika playing her biopic on the big screen.

She said, "Yes, he told me. But I could only speak to him for a few minutes," talking about Sood bagging the rights for making her biopic. Sindhu said "Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor too. But then, the makers would take the final decision."
