Radhika Apte Wore A Torn Saree For Her Wedding And The Reason Will Melt Your Heart!

Radhika Apte has proved to be an actress who is in a league of her own. She started off with baby steps, but thanks to her performances in films like Parched, Lust Stroies and Andhadhun, not just the Indian cinema, but also the West is taking a note of her. Many might not be aware, but the actress is already married to London based musician, Benedict Taylor! In a recent interview, she has talked about her wedding and even revealed that she wore a torn saree on her big day!

Yes, you read that right. The actress had a registered wedding with Benedict for which she wore a saree that had holes in it. Talking about the incident, she said,

“When I got married, I wore my grandmother’s old sari for my registered wedding and it had a lot of holes in it. But I wore it because she’s one of my favourite people on the planet. I’m not really someone who spends a lot of money on fancy clothes and especially not for a registered marriage.”

Well, she did have a reception later and the actress did spend some money to buy a dress fior the event, but it was not more than ten thousand rupees.

“Of course, I wanted to look good—I did buy a dress for my party (which was less than ten thousand rupees!). Also, I have to tell you this; I bought that dress at the last minute because I forgot to buy one! I’m not a picky person when it comes to clothes.”

Well, that is some revelation! Radhika was recently nominated for the Emmy Awards in the Best actress category for her performance as Kalindi in Lust Stories. She will next be seen in an American Fantasy thriller, The Ashram, Raat Akeli Hai alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and another International film where she will play Nora Baker, the first-ever female wireless operator to parachute into Nazi-occupied France to help the French resistance.
