Radhika Madan Reveals She Had To Buy A Contraceptive Pill For Her First Shot In Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota

The gorgeous and very talented Radhika Madan made a spectacular debut in the Hindi film industry with Vishal Bhardwaj's comedy drama Pataakha in 2018. However, in a recent interview the beauty revealed that the first ever Bollywood film that she shot for was actually Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, which hit theatres after Pataakha. Written and directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the action comedy is truly one of a kind and also features the very talented Abhimanyu Dassani, Mahesh Manjrekar and Gulshan Devaiah in lead roles.

In a chat with Mumbai Mirror, Radhika opened up about her co-star Abhimanyu and shared, “Sometimes, Abhimanyu (Dassani, co-star) and I would train together. We hit it off from the word go, but I didn't know that he was Bhagyashree ma'am's son until after I went to his house for a reading session. He would travel in autorickshaws while I owned a car. I felt bad and would offer him a ride, thinking of him as a newbie. I even bulled him at times, but he was always sweet.”

Remembering her very first shot, Radhika stated, “For my first shot, I had to buy a contraceptive pill. It was funny because my parents had flown in from Delhi to surprise me. My father got awkward, wondering what he'd tell people when they asked him about the shoot. I had imagined leaves and flowers falling around and people applauding when I completed my first shot, but it wasn't like that. It was over in just two-three takes. Afterwards, my parents took me out for a celebratory dinner and made such a big deal about the whole thing.”

Radhika went on to shine on the silver screen with Homi Adajania’s recent release Angrezi Medium, alongside Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film received great reviews but the box office collection was affected when theatres had to be shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, the film is said to have a re-release when things get better.
