Raj Kundra case: Shilpa Shetty skips Super Dancer shoot citing 'personal emergency', Hungama 2 release unaffected

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra’s arrest on Monday evening due to alleged links to a porn racket in Mumbai has now spilled over into affecting the actress’s professional commitments. A judge on the reality show Super Dancer 4, the actress according to reports was a no show for the shoot on Tuesday.

Reports claim that Shilpa cited a personal emergency as the reason for skipping the shoot. Her absence was made up for by actress Karisma Kapoor who will be a guest judge on the show. Karisma was last week seen as a special guest on the reality show Indian Idol 12 on the same channel.

Raj Kundra has been accused of producing pornographic content in Mumbai for an app his company developed and later sold to a relative in the U.K. The businessman has been remanded by the court into police custody till 23 July. At a press meet on Tuesday, Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police Milind Bharambe also commented on the possibility of Shilpa’s involvement and said that the police so far have not found any evidence linking the actress to the case.

While Shilpa is giving the reality show a miss, she also has a movie lined up to release on Friday. Hungama 2 marks Shilpa’s return to Bollywood after 14 years. The release of the film has, however, not been affected due to the case. The movie will proceed with its scheduled release confirmed the film’s producer Ratan Jain while speaking to News 18.

“We have made a good film with an honest intention. People will watch the film not because of the so-called ‘Shilpa Shetty controversy’ but because of its content. We are releasing the film as per schedule and nothing has been affected because of the entire situation,” he told the publication.
