Raj Kundra's sister Reena opens up about his first wife having an affair with her husband: 'Never thought she could do this to me'

Raj Kundra's revelations about his first wife Kavita and why their marriage fell apart recently hit the headlines. The businessman who is now on his second marriage with actress Shilpa Shetty, made these confessions while speaking about his first wife’s allegations that their marriage failed due to the actress.

According to Raj, his first wife Kavita had an affair with his brother-in-law (her sister Reena Kundra’s husband) and she was paid a huge amount for blaming Shilpa for their failed marriage. After Raj dropped these shocking revelations about his past, his sister Reena in a recent interview confirmed his allegations about his former wife and told Pinkvilla, "I treated Kavita as my older sister. I loved and trusted her. She and I were very close. I never thought she could do this to me. It was heartbreaking."

Raj had said in his interview with the same portal that his first wife brought out the worst in him and despite being warned by everyone from his family to his driver about her alleged affair with his brother-in-law he gave her the benefit of doubt. He pointed out how after his sister, her husband and his parents moved to the U.K. Kavita and Reena’s husband grew close and had an affair.

He married Shilpa Shetty in 2009 two years after his divorce with Kavita.

On the other hand, Raj’s wife had earlier levied some serious allegations on Shilpa. "I look at the pictures of them together and think, she’s with my husband, she’s living my life. While I was trying to put our marriage back together, he was talking constantly about Shilpa, as if it didn’t matter what happened to us because he had found someone better, cleverer and more famous than me. Now he has begun pestering me for a divorce. I asked him if he planned to marry someone else but he avoided the question," she had said.
