Rakul Preet Singh Moves Delhi HC Against Her Media Trial In Rhea Chakraborty Drug Case; Court Asks For Restraint In Reporting

Actress Rakul Preet Singh has moved to the Delhi High Court against the media trials she is being subjected after her name cropped up in Narcotics Control Bureau’s probe of the drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

According to ANI, Rakul through her lawyer submitted that media reports being run against her in the drug case are in contravention with I&B Ministry guidelines.

The actress’s plea has been rejected by the Delhi High Court and no stay will be put on the broadcast about her but the court has directed the Centre, Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association to see it as representation and “expeditiously decide it including any interim directions that ought to be issued,” claims the agency.

Rakul along with Sara Ali Khan and designer Simone Khambatta have been in the headlines consistently since it was reported that actress Rhea Chakraborty who is currently in NCB’s custody, named them among the 25 celebs in Bollywood who consumed drugs.

The reports were later confirmed by the NCB but the course of action being taken after these celebrities were named was not defined by the central agency. The probe in the matter continues and several arrests have already been made but Rakul, Sara or Simone have not been summoned for questioning yet.
