    Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and loved television series of all times. While the show originally aired in 1987, it was recently re-telecasted on Doordarshan amid the coronavirus lockdown. Viewers had a great time watching the rerun of the masterpiece and fans soon began showering social media with praises and loving messages for the makers and the talented cast, including lead actors Arun Govil aka Lord Ram, Deepika Chikhalia who portrayed the role of Sita and Sunil Lahri who played Lakshman.

    In a recent chat with Mid-Day, Sunil aka Lakshman walked down the memory lane and remembered one of the most important lessons shared by Ramanand Sagar during the shoot of their show. He revealed, “Sagar Saheb always called me a black stallion. He had immense faith in me and always encouraged me. He complimented me by saying that I am very talented and I should work hard and be focused in life. He also guided me to not let success get to my head.” The director used to ask him to be humble and polite to everyone around and most importantly, advised him to be sincere to his work. Even today, the actor remembers the wise words and tries his best to follow them.
