Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film is not based on musician Amar Singh Chamkila; Deets inside

Last month it was reported that Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is all set to reunite with ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for their third film together, after their hit masterpieces Tamasha and Rockstar. Buzz suggested that the filmmaker took two scripts to the actor which included Amar Singh Chamkila’s biopic and a social film that tackles the idea of suicide. Well, it has now been clarified that the film they decided to go ahead with is not based on Amar Singh Chamkila.

In a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed, “While the biopic of Amar Singh Chamkila was one of the films Imtiaz was working on, he had two other scripts too that he was writing simultaneously. One is a social film that sends out a message on suicide, the details of the other film have been carefully kept under wraps. Ranbir's film is not the biopic because it will bring him to a similar Rockstar like space with him playing a musician, although the stories are poles apart.”

So Imtiaz and Ranbir’s third film together will be one of the other two projects. Well, we can’t wait to see them create magic together again! Meanwhile, Ranbir has three other exciting projects in the pipeline including Brahmāstra, Luv Ranjan’s untitled next and Shamshera, which will feature him in a double role.
