Ranbir Kapoor found Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Baiju Bawra to be a 'boring script', Deepika Padukone denied equal pay as Ranveer?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming project Baiju Bawra has been the subject of a lot of speculations and conversations. Several reports in the past few months have speculated over the casting of the film where the names of Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor were said to be considered.

While according to whatever is known so far, Ranveer Singh has bagged the part making Birju Bawra his fourth collaboration with the filmmaker. Reports have also been rife about Deepika Padukone being approached for being the leading lady but it turns out now that the actress has refused the Bhansali film.

A report in Bollywood Hungama has now claimed to reveal the real reasons behind Ranbir and Deepika refusing to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film. According to a source of the portal Ranbir who was launched into Bollywood by the filmmaker in Saawariya in 2007, did not have a pleasant experience working with the filmmaker and vouched not to work with him again. That may have been true so far, but the star was approached for Birju Bawra and he turned it down because he feels that it is a ‘boring script’ with ‘restricted appeal’.

Deepika was the second actor to have turned Sanjay Leela Bhansali away for Baiju Bawra since she demanded her pay to be equally good as her husband Ranveer Singh who is the leading star of the project now. The report claims that Deepika was denied the amount and since she already has several big-ticket films in her lineup up she gave preference to starring in Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan. According to the source, the aerial action film is giving the actress an opportunity to explore something fresh with a meaty and action-packed role.

It has further been claimed that she will be busy with her film with Prabhas for the most part of next year and doesn’t want to end up repeating the same things like pairing up with Ranveer on-screen in Bhansali’s project.
