Ranbir Kapoor To Reunite With Sanjay Leela Bhansali After 13 Years For Baiju Bawra Remake?

The handsome Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most popular and established actors of Bollywood. He made his acting debut in the film industry in 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic film Saawariya, opposite Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. Well according to latest buzz, the actor might reunite with his Saawariya director after 13 long years for the remake of Baiju Bawra. Bhansali, who is currently busy with Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, had announced the film last year. While it was earlier speculated that Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan and even Shah Rukh Khan were being considered for the musical, it seems like Bhansali has decided to go ahead with Ranbir this time.

In a report shared by Pinkvilla, a source close to the development was quoted saying, “Ranveer and SLB were discussing to collaborate on a film, but right now that can't happen. Bhansali will reunite with Ranbir on this one. There are two main male leads in the film, one is of Baiju and the other of Tansen. RK will be playing Baiju's role in the period drama. Recently, he even went to meet the filmmaker at his office where he verbally agreed to do the project. The actor's team is now working out the modalities.” We wonder who will be roped in to play Tansen’s character. Any guesses?

The source further stated that the actor and director duo are not locking dates as of now because makers still need to cast other actors for the project. However, if all goes well, Baiju Bawra remake will go on floors in the second half of 2021, right after Gangubai Kathiawadi is wrapped up. Meanwhile, Ranbir has three other projects that fans can look forward to. He will soon start shooting for Luv Ranjan’s film and will then prep for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next around early 2021. There’s also Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, co-starring Alia and Amitabh Bachchan.
